Founded in 1914, the Swiss National Park in the Engadine is the oldest one in the Alps. More than 170 square kilometres of nature are completely left to their own devices. This allows visitors to experience wilderness in its purest form in the area between Zernez, S-chanf, Ofenpass and Scuol.

This guided taster tour, which is intended for national park beginners, will offer you an introduction to this unique nature reserve. The excursion starts with an aperitif at the National Park Hotel Il Fuorn. From there, you will set off for an easy guided hike. Your guide, equipped with telescope and binoculars, will explain the characteristics of the national park on the way, allows you to take a look into an eagle nest and looks out for deer, chamois and marmots together with you. The excursion ends at the Alp Stabelchod. From the nearby Postbus, stop you can return to the starting point.



  • Apéro: from noon at the Hotel Il Fuorn, choice between meat- or cheese-plättli
  • Start time for the guided hike: 1.45 p.m.
  • Meeting point: Infomobile next to the postbus stop "Il Fuorn P6"
  • Hike information: 2 hours, altitude difference 150 m, hiking distance 3 km

  • Please note the protection provisions of the Swiss National Park. Among other things, dogs are not permitted.


Travel tip:

Easy return: buy a single ticket to the stop "Il Fuorn P6", have it stamped by your excursion guide, and it will also be valid for the return journey. The offer is valid from all entry points in Grisons for journeys with the Rhaetian Railway and Postbus.
